After the inaugural issue, I wondered if we would get any more good stories. Well, we did! This month we have stories of clones, madmen, fanatical warfare, genetic manipulation, and fear. What more could you want?
Changed Minds by Alice Roelke. Dr. Dorian is a brilliant surgeon with malleable ethics. But how long can one who vowed to "do no harm" compromise that vow?
Memories by
Colleen Drippe. Human or Animal? What if the distinction
wasn't that clear? What's that Dr. Moreau? You love this story.
Soulless by Donna Sundblad. Does human DNA
make a human being? What about clones? Pastor Arthur Haden says they
are "Human, but not God-Created" and thus are Soulless. Rachael Carpenter
is not so sure, but the surprise visit of a woman makes it more than an academic
speculation for her.
Phobos by Stoney Setzer. If we ever make
first contact with another species, will we be afraid of them or will they be
afraid of us? On Phobos fear is the name of the game on both sides.
